Cornwall Poem
when I fly into the heartland like a speeding arrow the road opens up before me like a river with a hundred estuaries all leading to the sea. in the car park at Wadebridge persistent rain, and the sand in the cracks on the floor of the van make this a safe place to sit and wait listening to the fingers of rain drumming on the roof and some seagull choir gathered outside practicing their broken...

I.
In this way, I am able to tell you about the lies: half-lies, good-intentioned lies, lies with no thought in them whatsoever, which were therefore perhaps the most malicious of all.
I am able to tell you about hands, crossed and tangled in any hint of cover, and the story of her hands, to…

This collection was heavily influenced by poems I wrote for After The Sound Has Gone, an extremely limited-edition,...
Broken Stories (series one)
(view this collection)
I began writing broken stories in January 2009, including the ones found in this collection. The aim of a broken story is to try and capture the drama and feeling of a short story, within the space of a few lines. Grey Beaches
(view this collection)
Katie and I met through the poetry community over at deviantArt. We discovered a shared appreciation for grey beaches, amongst other things, and in spring/summer of 2009 (which down in New Zealand would have been autumn/winter) we began writing a series of poems, inspired (in theory, at least) by beaches we had visited recently.
She has contributed lyrics to some of my...

Mountains And The Sea
(view this collection)
Mountains And The Sea is a series of poems composed over the summer of 2009. I wanted to take full advantage of the inspiring surroundings I found myself in while on various holidays, so I set myself the task of documenting my trips through poetry. Mountains is set in Snowdonia in Wales, and The Sea is set around Cornwall, particularly the north-west.
